Get started

Two minutes from download to your first guarded AI agent.

1. Install

The easy way, download the app.

  1. Grab the free Lite bundle for your OS.
  2. Unzip it. You'll get a praxis folder with the app inside.
  3. On macOS, the first time you run it, right-click → Open (the app isn't code-signed yet, so macOS asks you to confirm).

Or, if you have Python 3.11+, run this instead.

Praxis keeps all its data in ~/.praxis/, the audit log, the recoverable trash, and a local key. Nothing leaves your machine.

2. Connect your AI tools

Run praxis install and it auto-detects ChatGPT/Codex, Claude Desktop, and Cursor on your machine, then wires each one to go through Praxis. Flip any tool on or off any time with praxis enable / praxis disable.

3. Use AI like normal

Ask your agent to do things. Praxis silently allows the safe actions, blocks the dangerous ones, and logs every decision in a tamper-proof evidence chain. See how it works for the full pipeline.
